Our assessments, workshops, coaching, keynotes and embedding services are exemplary for the following reasons:
All products and services provided by Influence Success are based on social science research and published by experts in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The information is then translated into easy-to-understand language and applied to your team’s working situation.
When we are called upon to help a team increase their effectiveness, we begin with assessing the team’s current situation. The assessment may take two forms. In all cases we begin by interviewing the team leader to get their perspective and an idea of where the leader wants to take the team. We also interview team members for their point-of-view as to team needs and desires.
We frequently recommend that a standardized survey be completed by all team members before determining the appropriate course of action. The survey, called the Team Diagnostic Survey (TDS), is a statistically valid tool for assessing the team’s strengths and weaknesses in the six conditions that drive team success. Teams that perform well on the assessment have been shown to be up to 80% more likely to succeed than teams that perform poorly on the survey.
The results of the team’s performance are reported in a formal TDS Report. The Report is shared with the team after it has been reviewed with the team leader. We then lead a discussion of the Report where the team begins to understand the meaning and implications of their survey results. At that meeting we get the team’s input on what is most important to focus on for the team to meet its goals and how and when the improvement process should unfold.
All teams have their own set of both strengths and areas in need of further development. Every Influence Success workshop and coaching service is customized to the needs of the clients. We focus our solutions to achieve the improvements the team and leader have agreed to achieve.
Changing team behavior and ways of interacting can stimulate stress and resentment in team members. This is a common and natural response to a change initiative.
Sean Gallagher, The Influence Success Company’s Founder and Lead Facilitator, brings credibility to each engagement that helps your team develop confidence in the process. He was with 3M, a Fortune 100 company, for more than ten years. 3M’s approach to collaborative problem solving and product development informs Sean’s approach to all client projects. Sean has also been part of a successful start-up company, now known as CardioFocus, struggling for resources and to commercialize a new medical technology.
In addition to working in business, Sean has also held the position of Lecturer at Boston University’s Graduate School of Management.
Finally, Sean’s sensitivity to the difficulties of changing team norms is informed by his experience as a member of both high performing teams and dysfunctional teams. He brings real-life engagement to every experience.
When we laugh, our bodies release dopamine into the brain—and dopamine is critical for learning and retaining new information.
Martha Burns, Ph.D, a member of the faculty of Northwestern University, Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, wrote:
“I like to refer to dopamine as the “save button” in the brain. When dopamine is present during an event or experience, we remember it; when it is absent, nothing seems to stick. There are actually some regions of the brain that increase our motivation and interest in activities. Often referred to collectively as the reward center, the regions are activated by dopamine. And the more motivated and interested we are in an activity, the more dopamine is released and the better we remember it. The reward center helps us to stay focused and repeat activities that were reinforced through positive outcomes—whether it is finding and returning to a location where good things happened in our life or just remembering interesting information.”
All Influence Success programs are designed to engage participants with important material and activities that connect the content to the real world. Our engaging workshop style is sure to bring lots of laughs throughout the program.
Not only does laughing during a workshop make it more enjoyable, but it also improves attention, information retention and promotes positive change!
